What To Expect In Session

Telehealth Individual Therapy
I offer 45-50 minute telehealth sessions to residents of PA. Video sessions are through the HIPAA compliant Simple Practice platform. Are you worried about having sessions in a virtual setting? Initially, me too! I thought “how would we ever truly connect over a screen?” But a good connection can transcend any distance. Feeling safe in a sacred space is at the heart of every good session, whether that is in front of a screen or in person. And a good internet connection is important too! The convenience of telehealth not only eliminates travel time from our busy schedules but also has made therapy more accessible, allowing for more consistent appointments and richer progress. 

Free consultation
I offer a free 15 minute consultation over the phone to see if we would be a good fit and to answer any questions you may have. If it feels like a match, we’ll schedule an intake appointment as the next step.

Intake Session
During our initial session, I like to use this time for us to both get to know each other and to determine what we want to work on therapy. During the intake, we will go over your history and presenting concerns, I will determine if I am the right therapist for you, meaning an intake appointment does not guarantee services. If I feel that your needs are beyond the scope of my expertise, I will refer out and point you in the right direction!

Fees and Payment

Fees
Individual self-pay 50 minute telehealth sessions | $125 – $185
Supervision for pre-licensed clinicians | $100

Payment
This practice accepts HSAs and all major credit cards as forms of payment. I do offer a sliding scale. Payments can be made directly in your Simple Practice client portal. All services must be paid electronically at the time of service.

Invoices/Superbills
For self-pay clients I can provide you with an invoice/superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for out of network reimbursement. Check with your insurance plan to see if they offer this benefit.

Cancellation Fee
If you are unable to attend session, please cancel at least 24 hours before hand, otherwise you will be charged the no show/late cancellation fee of $100.

Accepted Insurance
This practice accepts Aetna, Medicare, and Highmark. Aetna and Medicare clients can schedule with me directly. Highmark clients can sign up using the Spring Health platform, for scheduling and more information visit the Spring Health website. https://www.springhealth.com/

Anxiety

Don’t like change? Of course not! Change is difficult, but does it feel impossible? Does fear prevent you from making a change? Do you experience analysis paralysis? Are you in the process of a move, a breakup, a wedding, a new school, a new job? I love helping women work through the difficult year of wedding planning so that they can find peace while maintaining relationships with their in-laws! Together, we’ll sit down and work through all of life’s changes and challenges. We will work on learning from experiences and develop tools to help you move forward.

Self-doubt
Always asking others for reassurance and permission to take action? Do you have difficulty feeling strong and secure in your decisions? Are you flooded by self-doubt, guilt, and maybe shame following a big decision? Even with a small decision? Let’s talk about it! I love helping women find their wisdom and power. I can help you learn to listen to your inner voice and not the messages that we receive from the media, society, or those early attachment figures. Do you experience imposture syndrome, second guessing yourself and your abilities? I enjoy helping both green and experienced professionals find their sense of self and purpose within their field. Let’s work together to overcome imposture syndrome and accept ourselves wherever we are on our path.

Self-image
Do you experience thoughts about not being good enough? Does your self-worth depend on your thoughts about your physical image? Are you sick of chronic dieting or trapped in a diet cycle of “disordered eating” and negative thoughts related to food or exercise? I like to refer to these “disordered” thoughts as normal thoughts in response to modern social marketing and the fast, toxic, prepackaged products masquerading around as “food” that is available everywhere we turn. Together in session, we’ll deep dive into where these thoughts originated, and how we can challenge societal norms and standards to live an authentic version of ourselves.

Relationships
Struggling to navigate through life’s complex relationships? Feeling as though you are not enough in your own relationship with your partner, family, friends, or colleagues at work? Are you constantly people pleasing? Does this contribute to “losing it”? Snapping? Leading to conflicts with others? Are you introverted, but you love being around others and can’t seem to find that sweet spot? Do you experience difficultly managing relationships with your parents or early attachment figures? While working together, you will develop interpersonal skills to foster close relationships and to establish effective boundaries while protecting your spirit. You will also be better able to identify signals of safety to help you feel more grounded within your relationships.

Meaning
Unhappy and dissatisfied? Ready to make a change and work towards contentment and fulfillment? Does it feel like we’re lacking meaning and purpose? Having difficulty enjoying the small moments and appreciating the little things? Always searching for the silver lining, only to be left feeling depleted? I love working with women to help them find meaning and purpose throughout all stages and complexities of life. We will work on finding the glimmers and enjoying the many morsels life has to offer that we just have difficulty shifting our attention to. When we start to open the door, amazing things will unfold!
